Liverpool are facing
competition from West Ham in the battle to sign Lazio midfielder Ogenyi
Onazi, according to the Daily Express.
It was thought Liverpool
were closing to agreeing a part exchange deal for the player during the
January transfer window, with Fabio Borini returning to the Italian
capital.
Ultimately, the move never reached a conclusion with
Lazio to hold on the 22-year-old to help in their push for a Champions
League spot, but Liverpool have now been informed that Lazio would be
prepared to talk again in the summer.
The news has also piqued
the interest of West Ham boss Sam Allardyce, who is keen to bolster his
midfield after a strong 2014/15 season.
The asking price has been set at £7.1 million.
